Here is just a tidbit for all you new couponers:
Get your coupons for FREE from the weekly FoodDay paper. This paper is great because it has the weekly grocery ads for your area. In Washington County they are for Safeway, Albertsons and Haggen. It also has a coupon insert (some weeks it has multiple inserts). Really, for a new couponer that is all you need (along with a pair of scissors and your grocery list). I like to make a cup of tea, open the ads, and start matching coupons with sales. The FoodDay is great because it also has delicious recipes. Check it out this link to the Oregonian. Just call, or e-mail them and ask for the FoodDay to be delivered to your address, remember its a FREE service:
Make sure to hang on to the coupon inserts each week and have a handy place to store them. I have my coupon bag (it started out as a coupon mini folder, then exploded into a box, and then a notebook, and now I need a bag to contain all the coupons)! Inserts are like coupon gold. They are usually good for a few months and you can look back over them each week to double your savings!
